BACKGROUND

THE CORE takes as its starting point the 10 years of research that Anna Broström and Karl Ljung have conducted on a sediment core from the bottom of Lake Vomb in Skåne, southern Sweden.
The collaborative project was initiated and realized by the artist and cultural producer Josefin Granqvist in close conversation with Broström and Ljung.

The composer and violinist Mats Edén has also been involved since the early onset of the processes through a joint effort between him and palaeoecologist Anna Broström, in which he was invited to create music based on translations he would make from Broström's pollen diagrams into twelve tone compositions.
